Contract balancing

EBS, thanks to more than 75 years of experience in the field, offers unique solutions in the balancing field, able to reduce costs and production times, always exceeding expectations and favoring long-lasting relationships between customers and our operators. EBS has a fleet of balancing machines of its own production which are used daily to perform contract balancing of rotating parts of all types, always ensuring a process of machining and balancing at the highest levels.

We can balance rotors with a mass in the range between a few grams up to 10.000 kg with a length up to 6,7 meters and a maximum diameter of 3200 millimeters. Our machines allow a reduced downtime and low intervention costs. We release a balancing certificate containing the measured residual imbalance values and the balancing quality class according to ISO 1940 regulation. We carry out balancing tests on new design rotors, in order to develop the method of balancing that best suits the needs of each customer. This service is very appreciated by a lot of companies that come to us since many years to solve the balancing problems on their products.

Types of balancing

Static

There is a static unbalance if the center of gravity of a rotor is not on the rotation axis. Static balancing is done by compensating the unbalance on a single correction plane, as close as possible to the plane of the center of gravity of the piece. It is done on rotors with high diameter / length ratio, for example flywheels, pulleys, discs.

Dynamic

In addition to static unbalance there may be a couple unbalance, whereby the main axis of inertia does not coincide with the axis of rotation. Dynamic balancing is done by compensating the unbalance on two correction planes as distant as possible from each other. It is done on rotors in which the length is greater than the diameter, for example spindles, drive shafts, crankshafts.

With drive

In the balancing machines, in order to measure the unbalance, the rotor is driven into rotation. There are two driving devices: end drive, in axis with the piece or belt drive. Our balancing machines can be equipped with one of the two systems, or both.
